Sa Ra took Mako from Orodreth, then watched as the man re-equipped himself. Orodreth went below deck, and Mako started to struggle in her arms, knocking her hair down her back. It tumbled down her back in its thick braid, ending just below her knees. Sa Ra didn't even realize that the arrow on her forehead was showing. "Mako, stop struggling! You aren't to search through other peoples stuff and you know that!" She spoke to Mako in his own squeaking language, but he still struggled. Sa Ra held him tighter, but he wiggled out of her grasp to follow Orodreth. She sighed and brushed a stray hair out of her face. Noticing the water bender still there, Sa Ra gave him a small smile. "Hello, my name is Sa Ra. That thing that searched your pockets is my pet, Mako. You have to watch for him." She explained. She went over to the pile of stuff Mako had taken from Gathering it up, she crossed the small deck to give it back to the man. She looked behind her quickly, wondering where Mako and Orodreth went.
Waddling down the hallway and licking his lips after the delicious food he had 'found,' Mako came to an open door that had never been open before. She sat on his hind legs and groomed his face with his paw, then looked in. The food man! Mako ran into the room as fast as his full belly would allow. Pouncing on the stomach of the Food Man, Mako looked at the face of him. His expression read, 'got any food?' Deciding the Food Man wasn't going to feed him, he rolled off the mans stomach and came across some hard metal like thing on his arm. Mako bit it in curiosity, wondering if it was food, before curling up around it to go to sleep.

Azazel couldn't believe what he just heard. He heard the girl talking to the animal in a strange language. Then he saw the airbender tattoo on her forehead. When the girl introduced herself as Sa Ra and gave his stuff back, he smiled back. "Im Azazel" he said while taking his stuff back. "How did you leared to talk to your pet? You learned it on the Air Temple?"

Sa Ra's face turned a slightly darker shade. "Well, no." She wasn't used to his straight-forwardness, in her experience they usually took a long time before asking more personal questions like that. "I was brought up under...how to say it. Unusual circumstances. I didn't know how to speak like this until a few years ago." She gestured to the stairs leading below deck. "Mako, my pet, in a sense, he raised me." She gave an ashamed smile. It was something that sounded strange out loud, but it sounded good in her head. She wasn't going to mention that she could talk to almost every animal in the earth kingdom, or that she had really learned to speak English a couple of months ago. Time didn't matter. "I have never been to the Air Temple." She rubbed at the tattoo on her forehead, and her long sleeve fell to reveal the one on her arm. Sa Ra wanted Mako to come back. She felt uncomfortable without Mako around, and just for something to do she took the tie out from the bottom of her braid. Her long hair almost immediately unwound itself to blow in the little breeze. With impatience, she re-braided her hair and wound it around her head again. Satisfied, Sa Ra crossed the ship to the railing and watched as the water moved and the sun reflected off of it. She sighed, wishing she still had one of the gliders. The feeling of flying was amazing, and something she missed. "So, where were you heading before this?" She asked Azazel.

Rasir jumped down from his pearch, and he floated near to Sa Ra.
"Sa Ra...Why do you wear your hair like that?" he asked almost completly ignoring the waterbender.

Orodreth's back was on the bed and he was in quiet thought until he heard the sound of feet coming into the room. He opened his eyes just in time to see Mako jumping on his stomach. The creature looked at Orodreth for a few minutes then moved to the device on his arm and inspected it. Orodreth tried to say a few words to get Mako away from it, but Mako would not listen. Finally, Orodreth gave up and Mako curled up on his arm and went to sleep.
He closed his eyes again and thought back to the days where he had first joined the Dai Lang. He had been aimlessly wandering an earth nation city when a man approached him. A note had been slipped in Orodreth's hand almost without his notice. Orodreth looked back to see who the man was, but he had disappeared in the crowded street. That's when Orodreth opened the note that changed his life. Meet us at the tea shop at sunset. was all it said. Orodreth now wondered why he hadn't even questioned the note and gone to see these people.
The meeting was a blur to him. All that Orodreth remembered was meeting a powerful looking man who said that the talent that Orodreth had displayed was impressive and that Orodreth had become a member of the Dai Lang. He hadn't remembered falling to sleep, but when Orodreth awoke after this meeting the device was on his arm. He tried for a long time to get the thing off with every trick that he could think of. He put a small rock under it and tried to make it push the metal enough to slip his arm out of it, but the metal never moved. After several more attempts, Orodreth accepted that he would not get rid of it.
Orodreth continued to replay the story, but it soon shifted from thought to dream. His breathing relaxed and sleep took him away from the troubles of the present and to the mistakes of his past.

'Where's Mako when I need him?' Sa Ra thought. "Why do I wear my hair like this?" She repeated the question. She never really had an answer to that. "It was dangerous to show you were an airbender. So, I guess I never really got used to it down." That wasnt a good excuse, but it was a security thing, it made her feel safe. Just like Mako. "I never bothered to cut it, so it is to messy when down." Sa Ra started getting frustrated with herself. She couldnt find the right words to explain. Sa Ra felt her throat close up, a sign she had talked too much today. She knew that Rasir would never buy that, but it was the best she had.
Mako felt the breathing of Food Man steady, then slow. He was asleep. Mako sprang up, deciding what to do first. He would search the Food Man last, so that he didnt have a chance of waking up. Jumping over to the closet, he started to search in all the pockets, sleeves, and everything else. He was having the time of his life. Nothing of interest at all. He growled in disapointment, one too many times in one day that his search had turned fruitless. He didnt even bother searching anything else. He jumped onto the bed again. Depressed, Mako spread himself as much as he could on Food Man's stomach. If he was going to suffer, so was Food Man.

Azazel sighed. "Where i was heading? I don't have a destination actually, i just travel around and try to help" he said. When the other man floated near Sa Ra, Azazel slowly stepped to the other side of the boat. He leaned against the rail and looked down, into the sea. He sighed again. "What will happen when they find out why i am travelling? They look like nice people, but i doubt they'll understand that it wasn't my fault."he thought. Azazel closed his eyes and saw the nightmare that haunts him since that day. The waterbender arena was covered in thick ice and it was hard to get a grip. The battle was just started and Azazel threw an icicle at his opponent. Although he could dodge it, the icicle flew through one of the pillars that started to collopse. The opponent wanted to get away but he slipped and he ended up beneath the pillar. Five hours later he was banished from the Northpole. Azazel felt that tears were coming in his eyes. He wiped his eyes off with the back of hand, and stretched his arm towards the water. He strted to move his fingers and a bubble of water came in his hand. In boredom, he started to spin the water around his hand. And he started thinking what he would do.

Orodreth's eyes opened when Mako jumped on him. He felt the weight on his chest and sighed. The creature would not move, and Orodreth didn't see a way to force it off. Orodreth tried to feel his arms but the numbness had yet to subside. He hadn't slept for long at all. Another half an hour or so and some feeling would return. The ship continued on its steady rhythm sending relief to Orodreth. Hopefully the rest of the journey could continue this way. Once again, Orodreth closed his eyes. He tried to ignore the weight on him, but this time sleep was far away.

Feeling slowly began to return to Orodreth's limbs and with it the pain. He reached for Mako and grabbed him with both hands, lifting the creature so that he could sit up. He breathed slowly, allowing the feeling to continue to grow. His feet slowly moved and in a matter of minutes he was standing in front of his bed. "Well Mako, Let's see what the rest of the people are doing."
He walked up the stairs that led to the deck and saw that the moon was moving into the sky. It wouldn't be too much longer for them to be on the ship, but they would need to walk on land for some time as well. How the non-air benders would make it to the temple itself, was a mystery to Orodreth but that would be faced later.
He saw Sa Ra and put Mako back on the deck. "So, do we know anything about this other guy with us?" He said as he got closer to her and in a low enough voice that he could not be overheard.

"Not much, except he has a secret. I could sense remorse coming from him, but I don't know why. Did you want me to find out?" Sa Ra said. Seeing Mako, she jumped to the conclusion that he had been bugging Orodreth. "Was this rat troubling you?" She asked, picking Mako up. He crawled onto her shoulder and perched there, looking over at the moon. "Sorry if he was." Sa Ra hadn't realized so much time had passed. "Orodreth, are you okay? You seem...different." There was something diffrent about him, but Sa Ra couldn't place it.

Orodreth smiled at the mention of Mako. "Kept me company for a while, that's all. Did get into a few of my things but its all good."
The smile disappeared when she mentioned him being different. He hadn't known anyone well enough for them to realize the changes he had went through except her. "I am different," he said softly. "I've made a lot of mistakes since I last saw you. I found some people that gave me a feeling of belonging. I found something I was good at, and I've been getting better at earthbending. The cost, though, is something that I'm beginning to just realize." His arm shot up to the device under his shirt as a sharp jolt of pain hit him. "I have no idea what I'm supposed to do," he said aloud but more to himself than to Sa Ra. Even saying this much seemed to help Orodreth. At least he was being honest again, but how much more could he tell her without her despising what he had become?

Sa Ra looked out over the water when he spoke, seeing his words forming themselves in the waves. She tore her gaze away when he made such a sudden movement, thinking he might attack her. "Are you hurt?" She asked, once she realized he wasnt. Taking her hand off the rail and poising it in midair, near his arm like she was going to touch it. Mako, using their closeness as an advantage, jumped onto Orodreths shoulder. 'He is nervous about something. Afraid to say something.' Mako chattered. He could almost read the energy coming from Orodreth. "Orodreth, whats wrong? You can tell me." Sa Ra said. Mako knew more, but he wasnt saying any more.

Orodreth sighed. "I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone else about this." He paused for a moment and looked around to make sure no one else was close enough to hear. "I don't expect that you've heard much about the Dai Lang? It's an organization that relies on stealth, talk, and death in order to gain power. They have spies everywhere. I joined up with them feeling like I had found a place to belong. I was good at what I did. I thought I would make a difference in the four nations. It wasn't until recently I have begun to question the lengths that they would be willing to go. This ship we're on now is a pirate vessel that was a part of the pirate king's fleet. I promised to return it to him. I have yet to do that, and I'm beginning to wonder if I ever will be able to. I was on the ship to escape after completing my last mission." He stopped there. He did not want to tell Sa Ra about the kinds of things that he did while under the direction of the Dai Lang, nor did he want to mention the reprecussions of leaving the order. "I came here under order's of the Dai Lang," he said softly, but didn't go on.

Sa Ra listened, and when he finished everything clicked. "You were sent here to take out Rasir, weren't you?" She asked softly. Mako started to comb through Orodreths hair, looking for anything. She smiled gently. "That explains alot. You are exactly who I thought you are." Her smile grew bigger. "You should have killed him, but you didnt. You spared him." Relief washed over her as she thought about it more, and She was glad it wasnt anything worse. He was still the same, he just made some bad decisions. And he had kept them secret. "So, how far until we get to where we're going?" She asked.

He looked up at the stars and in a few moments had a good idea of their position. It was one of the things the Jiro had taught him during their short time of traveling. "It shouldn't be more than a few days. If we got good wind everything should work out well. I'm wondering though how us none airbenders are gonna get to the temple though. I mean I could probably earthbend myself up there but that could take a good bit of time and effort. I don't know any other way though. So I guess we'll figure out when we get there." He looked at Sa Ra as he talked, but once he finished his eyes traveled back up to the stars.
(I think I'll start up a new topic soon near the air temple unless someone wants something else out of the sea trip) (Started one up. It's called return to the southern air temple)
