Late at night a small candle shown from the top window of a three story ice house. Within this room stood Akusui, throwing cloths and other needed items into a pack which he then attached to his back. Akusui also wore a long dark robe with a hood. After he made sure that he had everything he put up his hood and snuck out of his house going toward the docks.

"Akusui?" Azrael said peering into the darkness. "Is that you? I just heard what the Shamans said about you!" he ran up to his friend, then became suspiscious when he saw the pack on his back. "What are you doing, Akusui?"

When Akusui heard Azrael he turned around, clenching his hands at his sides from being caught leaving. He showed Azrael a forced smile.
“Oh nothing Azrael, just getting some air.” he lied.

Azrael raised an eyebrow. "Then whats the pack for Akusui? Your not thinking of leaving us now, are you?" he asked, stepping closer.

Akusui stepped forward looking Azrael right in the eye.
“Yes. I. Am.” he told him. “Everyone treats me differently now. I am an outsider within my own tribe. I am leaving for the Earth Kingdom. I need to get away and maybe there is an earthbending master to teach me there.”

"why would you leave? You are the Avatar! Destined to save us and yet you leave before youve mastered waterbending?" he stepped foward. "Why don't you go with someone?"

“Exactly, I am the Avatar, not Akusui. I will always be regarded as the Avatar, not a Watertribe member, not a person, only the Avatar. And who says I haven’t mastered Waterbending. When I looked back my teachers always pushed my harder then any of the others and I learned faster then any of the others. Before they announced I was the Avatar I could nearly do thing my Master couldn’t.”

Azrael seemed to be hurt by this. "Only as the Avatar?! Who grew up watching out for you? Who helped to train you when you were just beginning to learn? Who healed you when you broke your ankel penguin sledding?" Azrael stepped foward. "You will never be much more than Akusui to me! Not the avatar, but my friend Akusui."

Akusui took a step back when he was told this.
"You are one of the few. Everyone else in the tribe looks at me different. They act like I sprouted the head of a hogmonkey. But hey," he said grabbing Azrael's shoulder with a smile, "how about we go together then."

"Alright," he shrugged. "But just to watch out for you." He grabbed Akusui's shoulder as well. "Come on, we'll take my boat."

Akusui shrugged, not caring what way he got out, as long as he got out. He felt a strong urge to find something, not sure what in the Earth Kingdom. He was guessing it was an earth bending teacher but in the back of his mind he didn’t think that was true.
Akusui stepped aside and let Azrael lead him to where his boat was.

Walking around the long way to the docks to avoid being seen, Azrael was the first to catch sight of his boat. It wasn't a large boat but it did have a two decks. Silently they loaded up their things and with a flick of their wrists were gliding across the black sheet of water.

Akusui stood on the top deck looking at the crescent moon on the horizon, breathing deep and letting out a large sigh, letting out all the tension that built up in him from the day of being pestered by people congratulating him. At first he enjoyed it, but after the 20th person he just wanted them to stop. He was relieved to be away from them, to be able to go at his own speed, to be able to do what he wanted. He was only 16! He could be able to relax at this age, not be saving nations!
He began to think back to when he felt the tugging on his heart and soul to leave the North Pole. He felt like a part of him was missing. That he was only part of a whole, that he wasn’t completed. He felt that a part of him lied in the Earth Kingdom, though he didn’t know where.

Azrael went up to the top deck to where Akusui was. He was gazing at the moon when Azrael called out to him. "Hey, come on, get some sleep. We'll let the cureent take us for now.", and with that he turned his back and went belowdeck.

Akusui nodded his head as he took one last look at the moon.
“Okay.” he said as he turned and walked down the steps going below deck and got into bed quickly going to sleep.
