If confronted by a person that he deems unimportant, Kin will use every trick that his mastery of firebending has taught him. Once the person sees him using bending, Kin attempts to dispose of them to keep his secret safe. If he is forced to fight along those he is trying to learn from, he relies on the staff that he carries in his travels.
History:
The fire nation is a set of islands shrouded in mystery to all other nations. Kin Fudo enjoyed the knowledge that being raised in this place provided. He showed an aptitude in bending at the age of four and from that early age, he was taught to control and manipulate this element first by his mother, then by a master hired by his wealthy family.
He was a natural bender and was an equal to his master when he reached his sixteenth year of age. From there he worked both with his master and in isolation to learn and create techniques that few benders bothered to discover. Though there is still much that Kin Fudo can learn, he is proud of the achievements he has made so early in his life.
The only other thing that interested Kin besides firebending was map making. He mapped out fire nation cities that he visited and even took a job as a tour guide to earn some extra money for the travels he planned to make in his future.
When he turned 20, Kin told his master and family of his plans to travel the four nations. He would map out each of these places and bring back all of his discoveries to assist in the fire nation's war. Neither of his parents agreed with his plan, but his master saw the advantages of mapping out enemy territory. He told Kin that he must keep his loyalties a secret to everyone. And when he discovered all that he could, he must return with his maps to hand over to the fire lord. The reward for such a thing would honor his family name for generations.
For the past three years, Kin has successfully blended in to every place that he has traveled. He has mapped the coastline of the Earth Kingdom and marked in ideas for the invasion of each of the major cities along the water's edge. He now is wondering deeper into the Earth Kingdom to learn as much as he can of their military and major city of Ba Sing Se. His progress has slowed significantly since he has attempted to travel through a forested swamp rather than walk around it.
