Naida woke up feeling achy and bruised. She rubbed her eyes as she recalled a ... nightmare she had just had. She remembered that she was waking up and someone on the deck of the Dragon's Wing was yelling. Perhaps something about the Fire Nation? Before she could do anything, someone had grabbed her from behind ... there was a shrill scream ... and then nothing. But what was this immense pain coming from her leg?
As Naida's eyes adjusted to the darkness, she realized she couldn't figure out where she was. It almost looked like she was in the cell down in the lower decks of the boat, but ... 'Since when were there torches down here?' she thought, thoroughly confused. She tried to focus. There was no way she was on the Dragon's Wing anymore. Had they already reached the Earth Kingdom? And if so, what had she been doing the entire time and what was she doing here?
As she looked around, she noticed another body laying nearby. The long braided hair gave the figure away. "Azalanten!" Naida cried, going over to wake him up. She was stopped abruptly by the searing pain in her leg. Clenching her teeth together, she looked down. Among the collection of bruises and cuts, her leg looked ... almost twisted out of proportion. She looked at it in shock, her eyes wide with fear. They had changed to a set of bright white as she realized that her 'dream' had been no nightmare. It had really happened.
"Azalanten! Wake up!" she whispered hurriedly, reaching over and shaking his arm. They had to get out of here. They had to get back to the Dragon's Wing' and to Sa Ra and ... Sa Ra!! What had happened to her?! Naida hoped she was alright. Her and the others who had gotten on the boat. Her heart ached painfully. Crystal clear tears formed at the brim of her pearl-colored eyes as her mind swarmed with thoughts as she prayed for Azalanten to wake up.

Azalanten woke. He rubbed his eyes, and looked around at the room he was in. Looked like a cell, fire nation. He took a deep breath to regain his senses and Cried out as pain lanced down his chest. He looked down at his arm, and saw a long, bloody gash. He looked around the room, and saw Naida. She was crying, he went over to comfort her and said "Naida, calm down. We are in the palaces prison. I recognize it. We are going to be allright just stay calm. Sa Ra, Shadowfang, and Shino escaped. We were captured, calm down." He looked down at Naida's leg and saw that it was twisted. He looked away before tears came to his eyes.

As Azalanten comforted her, Naida could only think of how happy she was that he was alive. Sa Ra, Orodreth and Shino, he had told her, had thankfully escaped. And at least now she had a better idea of where she was. But how were they going to get out of this mess? Azalanten had the chi canceling cuffs on his wrists so he was unable to use teleportation or any other Bending. And water was no where to be seen.
A few strands of her silver hair fell into her face but Naida didn't bother to push them back. Instead she leaned in to Azalanten's side gently, being careful of his chest wounds. Naida steadied her breathing. She had to calm herself if they should have any hope of getting out of this dreadful place. She would have to be strong. She would have to overcome her pain. Her white eyes, now tinged with an icy blue, traveled to Azalanten's arm. Naida wasn't very good at healing, but being a Water Bender, it flowed through her blood.
"Let me see your arm" she said softly, surprised at her own voice. There was no quiver despite her fear. It sounded warm and calming and almost ... strong? She placed her fingers over Azalanten's cut and closed her eyes. She would have to concentrate hard if this were to work. She had never attempted to heal something as bad as this before. Small cuts and bruises she could heal easily but this was a very deep wound.
First, she envisioned a small white light shining where her heart was. She concentrated, making it grow brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding. 'A little more ...' she thought. The white light then burst suddenly, catching Naida by surprise. Now, she could see a warm yellow light, glowing within her. She imagined this light flowing through her arms and down to the tips of her fingers. Naida opened her eyes slowly. There, at the tips of her fingers was the golden light.
"This is going to sting a little" she cautioned him, lowering her fingers down to the gash. Immediately, the golden light left her finger tips and appeared to be melting. It flowed through the cut, like water splashing through a river. She watched as it filled the area of the wound, then slowly sunk in, as if being drained.
The golden light faded and Naida looked down at Azlanaten's arm. There was still dried blood, but the gash itself was not as deep as it had been before."It still might scar but at least now it'll heal up a lot quicker" Naida said, unable to suppress a small smile. Suddenly, Naida noticed a shadow standing just outside of their cell. Did they seen her heal Azalanten's wound?

Wattyanic walked into the cell. He had seen The little preformance, and found that they had a measure of affection for each other. He had been trained in the institute to find little hints like this. Thats odd, a firebender and waterbender falling in love." he thought. Suddenly he had a cruel idea.
He looked through the bars and told the firebender. "It is time for you to go to the torture room." He saw the look of pain on the waterbenders face as he lead The firebender away.

Azalanten looked back at Naid's cell and saw a few tears drip down her cheek. He looked away before the archer saw her and berated her.
As he walked into the torture room, Azalanten said "There isnt much people in here." Wattyanic replied, "We want her to hear your screems." Azalanten tried to trip him.
Azalanten was strapped down to the table by the torturer. the torturer was a grizzeled old deaf man. He then Walked to the front of the table. "I hope you like electricity." As lightning shot out of his finger onto his body. Azalanten screamed.

One of the archers remained outside of her cell, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. As another man led Azalanten away, Naida watched fearfully until they disappeared down the dark corridor. Her body froze and she was unable to move, except for her uncontrollable shivering. It was dead silent. Naida strained her ears to figure out what was going on. Then there was a shot of bright blue light and a shrill scream.
"No!!" Naida screamed, doubling over and covering her ears. She rocked herself back and forth, desperately trying to get Azalanten's scream out of her mind. But it was like her head was hollow and everything inside echoed forever and ever ... Apparently, the cell door had been opened and Azalanten stumbled in. Naida hadn't heard anything, no footsteps, nothing. He collapsed to the ground and Naida looked at his limp body for a moment, unable to comprehend what had just happened. The cell door slammed shut with a loud clang. It was that noise that seemed to make her snap.
Her eyes, which had been icy blue with fear and pain were now gone. The color was replaced by one not many people saw. Her pupils were black like they normally were, but now they also displayed a blood red. She jumped up (her broken leg not yet affecting her) and grabbed the cell bars which served as a barricade.
"Why are you doing this to us?!"[/i] she screamed at the man who had taken Azalanten to the torture room. Her pretty silver, white hair flared out and her scarlet eyes flashed with anger. What have we done to deserve this?!"[/i] she demanded, her fists clamped tightly around the iron bars. Her teeth were clenched as she glared at the man, hatred glittering among her ruby eyes

Naida glared at him as he laughed. 'This guy's crazy' she thought. She watched him slip a knife, food and water under the bars into their cell. Naida glanced down at it as it slid across the hard, cold stone floor. She wondered why he also slipped a knife under.
"What do you want to know?" she asked through gritted teeth. If it was information they wanted, she could give them what they wanted and then they would be free. Right? She didn't trust the Fire Bender. Who knows what sneaky trick he might have up his sleeve. Her anger had started to subside a little, although her eyes kept the same red-ish tint. Naida winced as she could also begin to feel a shot of pain travel up her leg, causing her to shift her weight off of it.

"I slipped a knife under in case you decide life is not worth it. And all we want is the information on the defenses of the north pole. We hope torturing him will make you tell us." He walked away laughing Insainly.

Naida stared at the archers turned back in shock. 'We defiantly have to get out of here' she thought. With a sudden throb, her leg gave out and she fell hard on to the floor. She grimaced, trying to will her pain away. Her gaze was on the grey stone, the red had completly faded away from her eyes.
"They'll keep torturing you until I tell them" she mumered, her voice barely above a whisper. She doubted Azalanten could hear her. Her gaze, clouded with grey and a dull blue shifted over to the knife. ' ... in case you decide life is not worth it ...' His words made her wonder if she could ever really kill someone ... without hesitation. If given the chance, would she clench that knife in her hand and plunge it through someone's heart? Probabaly not. She'd end up driving herself to insanity just thinking about it.
But what could she do? If she told the Fire Bender about the North Poles' defenses, she would be endangering the lives of her family, her friends ... everyone she's ever known and loved. And of course, lying was out of the question. Not only was she completely incapable of it, eventually the Fire Nation would know and everyone's lives, including her own and Azalanten's would be in danger. But if she didn't tell them at all, Azalanten would continue to be tortured and who knows what else. Naida couldn't put him through anymore toture.
"What am I going to do?" she said, looking up at the ceiling of her cell. Although there were no windows, Naida could sense a full moon. At this time of month, she tended to feel closest to her family and friends back in the Northern Water Tribe. But now, she felt as far away from them as she's ever been in her life. She sighed and her breath came out as a cold shudder. She figured she would try and get some sleep, not being hungry at all. She layed down (minding her leg) and placed her head on her arm, waiting for darkness to come and embrace her ...

Azalanten whispered, "Dont give into the knife, Naida, dont give in to the knife." He tested his breath, felt a small amount of pain and stood. He walked over to Naida and gave her a kiss. "Naida, promise me you will resist the knife." He walked back to a corner, and lay down, recovering from the torture.

"Azalanten! You're aw-" Naida had started to say. He told her to not give in to the knife. Her eyes shifted over to the blade, shimmering murderously. A shiver ran up Naida's spine.
"I promise" she whispered. She wrapped her arms around Azalanten's neck and hugged him, resting her head near his shoulder. She felt calmer now. It was as if being this close to him gave Naida a little more strength.
"We'll get through this" Naida said confidently, dropping her arms. She smiled meekly and leaned against the right wall of the cell, bringing her legs up to her chest. She believed in her words but what she wasn't sure of was how. How were they going to get out. Naida sighed. Her silver-white hair was so long it fell to the floor. She closed her eyes, but didn't fall to sleep right away. She took this time to seriously look things over. Eventually, she fell into her dreams, her head falling gently onto her knees and her mouth slightly agape ...

Azalanten Jammed the knife up the cuff that kept him from bending. He felt a few needle's brake, and found he had enough chi to bend regular fire. He sighed in releif. He decided not to wake Naida. He started to heat up the lock with his bending, and soon it was white hot. He cicked, and broke the tumblers on the lock. He went over to wake Naida...
