Name:
Orodreth (also goes by Shadowfang)
Age:
18
Nation/bender:
Earth bender but has no nation that he calls home.
Weapon:
A two-bladed sword that once belonged to his father.
Appearance:
Orodreth stands at a height of six foot one and wears his shoulder length brown hair tied back. He has green eyes that are often filled with an intense stare. He wears a black cloak and light brown, earthbender styled clothing underneath it. The scars that travel up his arms reveal that he has seen combat. He always seems confident or angry to those people that look on him, but this is the mask he uses to hide his true self.
Personality:
Orodreth tends to keep silent when he is around those people that he does not know. He tends to stray from conversation and instead can often be seen lost in thought. His quiet nature all but disappears around those few people he calls friends. When relaxed he is able to joke and speak of better times. When in battle he is fierce and decisive.
History:
Orodreth was raised on a farm by his father. He had no other siblings, and his mother had left him only days after he was born. Orodreth was raised to be a farmer and nothing else. His father did not want him traveling the world. As his only son, Orodreth would inherit the farm after his father’s death. Because of this, while other kids were playing meaningless games or learning to earthbend, Orodreth was learning how and when to plant seeds.
Contrary to what his father thought, Orodreth knew it was his destiny to travel the world. He spent his few moments of free time daydreaming about the excitement he would find away from these fields. When he was fourteen he began to teach himself earthbending, and at the age of eighteen, he is still learning.
The day that Orodreth’s life changed was three days before his sixteenth birthday. He came home from a two-day hunting trip only to find his home in flames. He rushed to the site of his ruined house and when he found his father he dragged him away from the flames. The effort was a waste. His father died not from the fire, but from bleeding wounds in his stomach. Orodreth could not understand who would have done this, but when he saw the blade in his father’s hand and read the note in his father’s pocket, he began to understand.
Orodreth discovered that his father had once been a soldier in the Earth Kingdom’s army. The note said that Orodreth’s father had been thrown from the army after an act of treason against the Earth King himself. The note did not mention the treason, and Orodreth still does not know what his father did to deserve such shame.
After that day Orodreth left his home behind never to return. He taught himself how to wield the strange two-bladed sword of his father and does say with great proficiency. He tends to work as a mercenary, and this work is often done to annoy the fire nation. By freeing several political prisoners from the fire nation capital and killing three fire nation guards, Orodreth has received a wanted sign posted throughout the fire nation. He even carries one of these signs just to remind himself of the infamy he has gained for himself throughout the fire nation.
At eighteen Orodreth is ready to do something important with his life. He doesn’t know what, but he believes it will start with his newest job as a member of the pirate crew onboard the Darkblade.
